The Huntsville Police Department accepts applications from Alabama POST-certified (APOSTC) officers to join our team as Lateral Entry Officers. APOSTC-certified police officers with a minimum of two years of service are encouraged to apply.
We are also hiring certified police officers from other states who have a minimum of three years of sworn experience and meet APOSTC criteria.
Qualified applicants will be contacted by department personnel to schedule the APOSTC physical agility test, interview, polygraph, medical screening, and drug test. The Chief of Police will make final selections.
